I’m not going to hold back or be modest here. Sweetwater 420 is THE best Pale Ale I have ever tasted. Now this moment isnt the first time I’ve had 420. I’ve been drinking it for the past 2 years but have also been drinking local beers in every city I visit. I’ve had my fair share of pale ales and tonight was a definate reminder that Sweetwater 420 likes to dance on my pallet.

Currently the brew is only available in regions near Atlanta, GA. In 2002 Sweetwater was voted Small Brewery of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival and Kevin McNerny was voted Brewmaster of the Year. SweetWater brews have won numerous nationally recognized awards at both the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival. Distribution is limited due to interstate alcohol laws; the primary market for SweetWater is Atlanta and the surrounding area. However, SweetWater is distributed to other areas of the Southeastern United States, at least as far as the Nashville, TN, Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC, Birmingham, AL, and the Florida panhandle Tallahassee west into Pensacola. In all markets SweetWater is available on tap as well as in a bottle.

My retirement may include a distributorship of Sweetwater 420 in the central FL area so watch out for the goodness!

On a recent business trip to milwaukee my good buddy Jeremy Jacobs decided to come up and have some drinks with me at a sports bar named champs. We spent the night watching the cubs play, while I pretended to drink miller light. I guess in milwaukee everyone is big on miller light. Personally I cant stand the taste, so I was ordering draft Bud light.

During the night some Miller light promo girls were going around asking if anyone wanted to play Wii home run derby. Jeremy is actually a pro at this and was pumped to play. Our first go around we both crushed everyones scores. I hit 7 and Jeremy hit 6 runs. The closest score to that was 4 runs out of 12. We both won Miller light hats. I forgot to add that in order to compete you had to order miller light, which I got out of by lying and showing them my draft beer.

Every hour the promo girls would do another round and they would let you play as long as you had purchased a Miller Light, or a Bud Light in disguise. Long story short we played about 4 rounds and won every round. Towards the end of the night we had a small fan base of people watching us drink beer and play wii. Our total prizes included: 4 tickets to a Brewers game, 2 hats, 2 shirts, 1 free Miller Light (for Jerm), and a Jersey.

I guess after so much beer and winning Jeremy had to prove his musical talents by rocking the bar with his rendition of “Say it Aint So” by Weezer. I took a bunch of Pictures and made a montage out of it. So enjoy.
